Spring has Sprung

Well, it's officially Spring here now, not that you'd be certain if you looked out the window today. But fear not! We've got the perfect antidote to the grey skies with these colourful editions to your life..

We are in love with this large ceramic yellow pineapple, who knew a big decorative pineapple was exactly what we needed in our lives! You can't help but feel a little bit sunnier with this around.

Glove Me Do...

A very chilly "hello" from us today - we finally got a smattering of snow here in Brighton (more like sleet, that lasted for minutes - but still very exciting!) and we are certainly feeling the cold. The harsh conditions can be a nightmare for your skin and for those with as bad circulation as me, these gloves will be your snowy saviour.

All gloves - £19

These leather/ leather and suede gloves are the perfect cold cure as, not only are they lined with a beautiful velvety material, everyone knows leather gloves are incomparable for keeping out the cold and retaining the heat due to the nature of the material. Leather gloves are particularly durable and mold to the shape of your hands after wearing frequently, which gives them a gorgeous quality and well, fit like a glove! Although leather isn't renowned for being waterproof, it is certainly wind proof, making them ideal for the weather we're having at the moment and will definitely see you through many winters to come.

The detailing on each pair of gloves is beautiful and gives each pair a distinctive and unique look, for example the pair on the far left  have a gorgeous little bow to give it a pretty, feminine quality, whereas the tan pair on the right have a more androgynous look making them doubly wearable and easy to style. 

Top left we have a quilted design for a more 50s look of a classic driving glove, but updated with the sweet bow detail again, whilst next to it we have a pair of our buttery-soft suede gloves. Although not as stiff as the leather gloves and slightly finer material, the suede is equally as warm and luxurious with a much more move able quality to the material. 

This button detailing is a perfect homage to Brighton's artistic community, with bold contrasting colours reflecting our creative perfectly! Available in burgundy and a deep brown, these gloves would look gorgeous with a bright scarf or coat to really make the colours on the glove pop.

Rabbit fur arm warmers - £20

These beautiful little gloves are much longer in length, reaching up to the elbows to keep you nice and toasty but with the added benefit of leaving your hands free to text, type or write away whilst the irresistibly soft fur cuff will warm you up nicely. Great for indoor use or moving in to Spring, or even those milder winter days when you still need that little extra layer, these handy (excuse the pun) fingerless glove-come-arm warmers are great for just popping in your bag everyday and if British weather is anything to go by, you never know when you'll need them! Stay Gold

When the temperature drops it's easy to quickly become disenchanted with winter and find yourself scrolling through old summer photos longing for a little warmth! Although crisp, sunny winters mornings are beautiful, it's lovely to be able to bring some of that sunshine inside and transform your home ready for the arrival of spring. Our new metallic home accessories are perfect for welcoming the sun and will perk up even the gloomiest of days.

It has become an emblem of hospitality and 'welcome' once in the home, which we think is pretty lovely and even more reason for this piece to be the newest addition to every follower-of-fashion's home. Great to hold your jewellery and trinkets, or as a fun sweet container that will definitely take centre stage at any party! These sweet little vases are perfect for holding a single stem or a couple of sprigs of foliage, perfect for scattering around the house when the first few flowers start to come out for spring.

New Beginnings

Firstly, a very Happy New Year to all of our lovely customers! We hope you had a peaceful, relaxing time with much food and drink being consumed at regular intervals. After all the jollity, however, there often seems to be a certain amount of slovenliness associated with the beginning of January - one too many mince pies perhaps? Or multiple glasses of mulled wine making you feel a little worse for wear? Not that there is anything wrong with some over-indulgence, in fact at Christmas it's practically encouraged! It's always nice to get back to work with a feeling of a fresh start, however and whilst you're attempting the new fad diet of the year, why not treat yourself to something that will make those early starts and dark evenings a little easier to bear...

Is it just me or do houses look a little sad with the absence of fairy lights and candles after the packing away of the Christmas decorations? It's just as important to continue spreading the love after Christmas as it is during the holidays and how better to show it than with these amazing lights?! We've featured them on the blog before but after a flurry of interest over Christmas we are very happy to say that we just got a new delivery today and the red and rust are back in stock! Simple and wonderfully effective, treat yourself or your loved ones and show them you care. A little less costly but equally as sentimental, a spontaneous card is always a perfect way to let someone you love know you are thinking of them. Finally, this Wizard of Oz print is the perfect addition to any book lovers home (there's no place like it!) and sits perfectly anywhere from the smallest of studio flats to the biggest of barn conversions! The sentiment is still the same.

Dashing Through the Faux

 If there's one trend that's stuck around for a very long Autumn/Winter season, it's fur. Since the 19th century it has been seen as a luxury item, only adorned on the rich and famous and as a sign of their wealth, but since the introduction of faux fur it is now seen on all manner of trendy folk at a much more affordable price! Imitation furs instantly jazz up any outfit and when the temperature drops, as it has drastically done today, there is nothing more comforting than the softest wrap around your neck or a toasty hat on your head!

These fur stoles are the perfect addition to any outfit, adding a softness to an edgy leather jacket, creating seamless sophistication to a tailored camel coat or simply pop over a jumper for a vintage inspired look on those rare warmer winter days! 

These collars are equally beautiful, with sweet ribbon ties for a pretty detail. Much more practical, equally as warm and accommodating for a range of hairstyles (we've all add the ponytail/hat trauma at least once in winter). Now how could I write about fur without including the classic fur hat? Made fashionable by Russian elite, the fur hat is now a worldwide trend and our selection are no exception to the trend. This white fur hat gives a gorgeous nod to Cruella de Ville in the most harmless, animal friendly way! White fur is the perfect winter statement, with images of White Christmas springing to mind, but if it's not your thing, we have a selection of darker colours for a more practical day time style.
